A New Year, A New Look

You may have noticed something different about this latest issue of CONSULTANT. We have redesigned the publication to improve your overall readership experience from page to screen. CONSULTANT is no longer bound by the printed page. With the launch of our tablet edition, we’ve updated the look of our journal to ensure that you have the best possible viewing experience on your tablet device (eg, iPad). In addition to all the features and articles that appear each month in our journal, the tablet edition offers new interactive features, videos, and live links to exclusive online content. The free app is available through Apple and Google Play platforms and you can navigate the download process by registering at www.consultant360.com/tablet_apps.

OUR MISSION REMAINS THE SAME

Although our look and content have evolved to keep pace with changes in the practice of primary care medicine, such as the increased use of tablets and smartphones at point of care, our mission remains the same: to provide authoritative, timesaving clinical advice that you can put to use in your practice today. As one of the more than 250,000 primary care practitioners who receive CONSULTANT, you can expect:

Photoclinic: Patient photographs submitted by office-based clinicians and chosen for their teaching value.

What’s Your Diagnosis?®: Image-based self-quizzes designed to help you sharpen physical diagnosis skills.

Primary Care Update: Brief summaries of diagnostic approaches, treatment guidelines, and new developments you’ll want to be aware of.

What’s The “Take Home”?®: Real-life clinical cases that keep you up-to-date—and that offer a “take-home message” you can put to immediate use in your daily practice.

Dermclinic: Photographic self-quizzes aimed at honing your ability to recognize skin conditions.

Review articles: An examination of topics pretested among CONSULTANT readers, developed by leading authorities, referenced, and peer reviewed. Articles feature practical “how I do it” advice and are illustrated with carefully chosen tables and figures to clarify key teaching points quickly.

When you are looking for specific information on managing such common medical problems as type 2 diabetes, hypertension, osteoporosis, or asthma—or seeking insights to help you work through a challenging differential diagnosis—you can always turn to CONSULTANT, in print, online, or in our new tablet edition.
